ABOUT

At the Kairos Counseling Center, we believe that the greatest component of emotional healing and behavioral modification is understanding the process. The therapist at the Kairos Counseling Center is licensed and trained to assist the clients as they navigate through their journey of change and or stabilization. The therapist utilizes the Biopsychosocial Model, thereby working with pediatricians and child psychiatrists to ensure that quality care and effective counseling services are provided to all clients. The Kairos Counseling Center provides counseling services for children and adolescents ages 5 to 18 who are currently experiencing emotional, behavioral, and cognitive issues.

The idea of being assessed for counseling services can be quite frightening and overwhelming for a child and his or her parents. As your child’s prospective therapist, my goal is to ensure that the assessment process and future sessions are executed with the utmost professionalism while utilizing the most effective counseling approaches and techniques. Currently, I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in
Psychology from Troy University and a Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Auburn University, Montgomery. My latest accomplishment was the obtainment of an Educational Specialist degree in the field of Clinical Mental Health from Auburn University, Montgomery.

My approach to counseling is an integration of Cognitive Behavioral Theory and Play Therapy. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor certified by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling. In order to ensure integrity in the application, I am a member of the Alabama Counseling Association and The American Psychological Association. Throughout my educational journey, I have been inducted into the Psi Chi Psychology Honor Society and the Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Honor Society.
